Hiking:
There are endless hiking opportunities year round in the Bow Valley. From short hikes, to day trips, you’ll never get bored in this outdoor playground! Just remember that in the Spring some trails might be icy, so always go prepared and check out https://www.alltrails.com/ before heading out! Some of the more common trails are: Grassi Lakes, Ha Ling, EEOR, Lady Macdonald, Sulphur Mountain, Tunnel Mountain, Lake Agnes, Big Beehive, Jura Creek, etc.
Legacy Trail Bike Ride to Banff:
If you haven’t already rode the legacy trail to Banff, it should be on your bucket list. Enjoy a nice 20km scenic bike ride along the Bow River. Stop in Banff for a drink and then you can bike back or hop on the Roam Bus!
Look for Wild Flowers:
In May and June you can find plenty of Wild Flowers in the Bow Valley Provincial Park. Just remember to not pick the flowers and leave them for others to enjoy!
Enjoy the sunshine from one of Canmore’s great restaurant patios:
Not only does Canmore have a spectacular backyard playground, but it also has amazing restaurants with great patio views. Be sure to check out the Iron Goat for an astonishing view of the Three Sisters!
Watch the sunrise from Moraine Lake
Take a drive out to Lake Louise and take in breathtaking views of Moraine Lake. Be prepared to have a short 1.8 mile hike to get to the lakeshore. Bring some coffee and aim to be there early enough to get a parking spot!
If the weather isn’t nice, paint some pottery at Crock A Doodle!
Take a troll down to the Shops of Canmore with some friends and enjoy your afternoon painting. This is a great activity for when the weather is gloomy. If restrictions are still in place, you can call ahead and get a pottery kit sent home with you to paint! This is a must do activity this spring.
Go for a walk around the Bow River:
Who doesn’t love a good walk? Get out with your furry friend and enjoy a peaceful walk around the Bow River. This is a nice and easy 1.3 mile walk and is good for all skills and ages.
Walk around downtown Canmore and go Shopping:
Be a tourist for the day and take a walk downtown Canmore! Enjoy all the little local shops and boutiques. In times like these it is important to think about local businesses and give them a little extra support and love!
